But you can make delicious donuts that are healthy in this pan by following the included recipes and then baking them instead of frying them. I have used our favorite muffin recipes in it, too. Instead of a muffin, they look like donuts. The grandkids love them. I have two pans now, so I don't have to wait for one batch to come out. 1/2 recipe makes two pans full.

One of the things I love about this pan is how you don't need any oil. You do need to let them cool about 5-10 mins before removing.

The holes are very small and getting batter to go in and not get all over the middle is hard. The pan itself is great though and really good at the non-stick, and very heavy duty. If I buy anymore, I will make sure I get the bigger size though. Small one is hard to maneuver batters into without making a terrible mess.

Reviews for Wilton Perfect Results 4 Inch Round Tart/Quiche Pan, Set of 6 (Kitchen) I bought 18 of these pans to serve individual tarts to my guests at a recent dinner. They were the PERFECT size! Four inches in diameter, which I thought might be too big when I ordered the pans, but they weren't. I didn't overfill them (tarts aren't that usually deep) and my filling/toppings weren't too too rich. No one left even a bite on their plates. Think of them as almost the size of a bakery cookie. Not little, but just right. I used a shortbread type of crust with fruit and citrus mascarpone filling (you can see them in my customer image.) Very nice and pretty dessert.

The pans were very non-stick, which was especially nice for a fragile, blind-baked tart crust. the inside is removable which made keeping the rim in nice shape, no digging with a knife! I did have to sort of pop the bottom circle off with the tip of my paring knife (my recipe was especially buttery, so it bled a little around the edge,) but there was no sticking at all of the pastry anywhere. They are made of non-flimsy metal, very uniform in every way, and there are no sharp edges...every surface is non-stick.

The only bad thing is that is IS more time consuming to make multiple individual tarts than it is to make one big one, plus you have to wash multiple tins when you are done. (Plus, sometimes you don't need an entire big tart.) I hand washed mine. It does say they are dishwasher safe, but I have had non-stick surfaces not respond well to the dishwasher, so I didn't want to take the chance.

Instead of boring, bland muffins, the Nordicware Sweetheart Rose pan makes 12 1/2 cup roses in intricate detail, including rosebuds and leaves. I use Baker's Joy to grease the pan before baking, and add a light dusting of confectioner's sugar to the finished muffins / cakes so as not to cover up the details. Cleaning is a snap: normally, there is no batter left in the pans, ever with all the nooks and crannies. The pan is also a good solid weight, something sorely missing in all those "made in China" knock-offs (Nordicware is still made in the USA). This is an easy, beautiful presentation for teacakes, muffins, and cupcakes that look like you bought them at a bakery.

The muffins always turn out so well and unsticking them from the pan is effortless (which is more than I can say about several other brand tins out there). After baking with this pan I realize how nice it is not to be concerned with effectively removing the baked good and knowing that the product will look beautiful is also great.

The only downsides are the cost, heaviness, and the fact they're not very space-efficient-- only two of these can fit in a conventional oven and one better use both hands to remove the pan. Though $30 is a lot of money for something that bakes so few goods, it is well worth it based on its reliability and durability. As a person who baked 3 times a week, I got my money's worth.

After years of numerous other brands and not getting satisfactory results, I decided to give this a try as the lifetime warranty was a big factor in making my decision.

These are heavy and high quality pans that gives me the best results in all my breads every time. I always get a nice crown and it browns and bakes evenly. I love these pans so much that I went and got a few other Chicago Metallic bakeware. I have been slowly replacing all my bakeware with Chicago Metallic knowing I will have these pans forever.

We've been using old, battered, basic metal bread pans that needed replacing, and decided to give the Chicago Metallic uncoated pans a try. Today was the test run and I am thrilled with the results. The loaves (I baked eight) rose beautifully, cooked evenly, and literally fell right out of the pans (I used a light coating of cooking spray, but I wonder if the spray is even needed). Even the bottoms and sides browned nicely and the crust had a delicious toasted texture to it, something my old pans never produced. These pans have a very substantial look and feel and cleaned up very well. I expect we will be using them for many years to come and the investment will be well worth it.

Perhaps the biggest benefit to our family is that because of the size and shape of the pans (minimal, with no extra edges or lips) I can actually fit eight of them on one rack in my oven at a time -- barely. I have a Bosch mixer and large bowl that allows me to make a bread recipe totaling 28 cups of flour, or 8 one pound loaves. So to be able to bake them all at once is pretty much priceless. Thanks Amazon for a great price on a great pan.

Pan is constructed with, probably, single sheet of metal being folded to shape pan. When using, some dough seeps around edges and lodges in extremely slight opening on lower edges where metal is folded over. Very difficult cleaning and can't tell is any has gone up under the edges.

Reviews for Corningware Simply Lite 4-Piece Bakeware Value Pack (Kitchen) very light and very durable. just used in microwave. Sides/Edges used for carrying do get heated a little but manageable enough to carry this thing around when hot. I do want to mention that the two pieces are 2.5 and 1.5 quarts. This was not in the description so just wanted to let everyone know about the size. This thing comes with plastic lids only in case anyone is looking for glass lid also.

I was looking for glass options to replace all of the plastic tupperware we have for food storage, just to be sure there's no risk of chemicals leaching into our food. The other packages of SimplyLite you can order come with 2 lids---a glass one for baking and a plastic one for storage. This set only comes with the storage lid, thus the $$ savings. This was perfect for me...I have some old Corningware bakeware with glass lids and I very rarely use the lids for anything, so I knew they weren't necessary for my purposes.

My jerky gun makes the strips thicker than we like, so this is the right size for thinning them out. It doesn't stick to the meat like my big wooden roller does. The only catch is the instructions say not to immerse the roller in water. That is not an option when using it with raw meat, so I do immerse it to get it clean but there doesn't seem to be a problem from doing that.

These are good industrial grade kitchen sheet pans with good weight and a wire-filled "rolled" edge.

I just don't like cooking on or trying to clean aluminum for any cookware, but this pan has excellent construction. I think a far superior pan, although very expensive is the Gourmet Standard, which is stainless on the outside with an aluminum core (tri-ply). The Amazon listing calls it a 16" jelly roll pan, but that's wrong, it's a half sheet pan...(check out Gourmet Standard's website).

I like having sides on my sheets, and these fit the bill (some sites/companies will tell you that you can't bake cookies properly with sided pans, but I've never had any problems). I had several criteria for this purchase: price, quality, weight (I wanted heavy gauge), and non-warping. These sheets matched my requirements on all counts EXCEPT for the warping...they still give the dreaded 'boing' when in the oven a couple of minutes. Granted, it doesn't seem as bad as cheapie sheets, but still....oh well....love the sheets anyway and would buy them again.

The non-stick surface makes it easy to release the muffins and clean-up is no work at all, just a quick rinse with some hot soapy water and a couple of wipes with a cloth. I've even put it in the dishwasher a couple times with no problems noted.
I love the little orange silicon grippy-ovals at the left and ride sides of the pan. You can get a good solid hold of the pan with these. Plus the sides of the pan are bowed out, giving you more room to grasp the pan. So even with oven mitts on your hands you won't be sticking your thumbs into your piping hot muffins.

Makes adorable little cakes. I'd say about 2-3 servings per cake. I was hoping it was 1 serving per cake, but it was bigger than expected.

Some tips:
-It will take AT LEAST one box of store-bought cake batter to fill the 4 cakes. They don't tell you this in the "instructions" provided. They were a little bigger than I hoped/anticipated.

As for the product, it is great. The first 20 cakes I made (first 5 times I used this) I would bake the cakes, take them out of the oven, toss the cake pan in the freezer for about a minute, take it out, put a cutting board on top of it, and flip it over. Every time, each cake slid right out, looked perfect, and was easy to frost. When using a cake mix (+3 eggs, oil and water) the mix will distribute evenly into each mold to fill it about 70% - when the cakes come out of the oven, they all have expanded about half an inch over the top of the pan, and I gently cut the cake bottoms off evenly, and it's perfect. Great product, great seller! I probably cook for somewhere between 20 and 40 people each week, and everyone absolutely loves these.

I didn't really think that there was much of a difference between pans, until I tried this one. My cupcakes come out with a perfect dome on top, the sides never stick, and they are always perfectly cooked from top to bottom. I definetly recommend spending the extra money and gettin a quality cupcake pan like this one! I do wash it in the dishwasher, and have not had any problems thus far.

I had Baker's Secret pans (rusted if not thoroughly dried), Wilton pans (awkward handles), Wearever pans (don't like aluminum) and some generic unknown brand pans (a combination of the above problems). When I finally broke down and bought a Calphalon pan I said good-bye to all the rest. Then I just had to buy another Calphalon pan--I rarely make just one dozen muffins at a time. I would not go back to any of the others. The muffins brown evenly and are shaped perfectly.

I used to use muffin papers all of the time to aid in the removal of the muffins. They seemed to stick in the other pans no matter what I did. I had been told this was one of the hazards of high altitude baking, so I didn't think I could do anything to change it. Many of these pans had to be washed by hand and with the muffins sticking it was tedious to wash out the stuck parts from each muffin cavity. But I felt the muffin "presentation" was not as nice when they were in papers.

Now I rarely use papers--just a quick spray in each cavity and the muffins drop right out after cooling in the pan just a few minutes before inverting. If I make blueberry or chocolate chip muffins I do run a small silicone spatula around each cup before inverting. That is because sometimes the berries or chocolate chips stick a little. These pans go right in the dishwasher without any visible ill effects. I love the ease of clean-up.

I highly recommend these pans if you are frequently making muffins or cupcakes.

Reviews for Simply Calphalon Nonstick 6-Piece Bakeware Set (Kitchen) I bought this set last December and have used the pieces with regularity since.

Based on price/performace alone, I would have given it 4 stars. It pretty much does what it is supposed to do, and $30 is pretty cheap for a set. I do think that the set is not (or should not be) representative of the Calphalon brand, though I suspect the profit margin on this set is probably much higher than that of its One line of cookware.

My main issue has been echoed here before: rust, namely under the curled edges. This occured the first time I put the bakeware in the dishwasher. The rust is not visible, mind you; but as you take them out, they tended to drip brown liquid all over the floor. Now, my dishwasher is new, and I use regular old Cascade like everyone else, so I don't think the caveat emptor, "some detergents are caustic" really applies in this case.

Now that said, some invisible rust which only exists inside the lip of the pans and which does not come into contact with food doesn't particularly bother me all that much.

My wife had dinner with a friend and the chef at the restaurant, upon hearing that I was at home making Orange Madeleines that night suggested I try making canneles (kuh-nal-lay), something I had never tasted before. I did quite a bit of reading on the subject, which has a fairly rich history, and decided I would attempt it. The pure way of making them is to use a tin lined, copper mold, as well as melted bees wax, however, the cost of those was prohibitive, and I'm not that much of a purist, so I decided to try the silicone mold offered on Amazon.

There are a slew of recipes, and baking processes out there and I found a fairly simple one and tried it out when the mold arrived. Through trial and error, I believe I was satified by the third attempt. Having never tasted canneles before, or even seen one for that matter, my finished product appeared to look like it should, and the taste, and consistency, delightful. My family liked them quite a lot, and I made a batch for the office and they were very well received so I think I probably achieved some level of success.

I have nothing to compare my experience to but I will say this about the process. As the canneles bake, they tend to rise out of the mold. I had read that one shouldn't worry, they will settle back in later. Mine didn't on the first and second attempts and the results were visually discouraging. On the third attempt, I proactively started to force them back down late in the baking cycle and I must say, it wasn't easy to keep them down. Finally, as the baking came to an end, they did stay down, and except for a wrinkle or two, they finished nicely. Whether this rising and not falling was because of the soft silicone molds, I do not know.

You have to make sure you use two hands when you take them out of the oven. Also they smell when you first use them for the first couple times, after that they are fine. Overall I guess they are OK, not sure I would purchase more though.
Reviews for Silicone Solutions 4-Piece Baking Starter Set, Burgundy (Kitchen) This was my first silicone baking 'solution' that wasn't simply a sheet of silicone over a baking sheet. I had previously used silipat French sheets, so thought it worth a try baking with these.

The first time I put the cake pan in oven I did not use a metal sheet under it and when I almost dropped the cake because these are VERY BENDY. I do not recommend using without a metal support pan or sheet. I have a combo microwave/convection oven which means the microwave reheat for meats is out.

Their clean up is easy and as expected nothing sticks to them.

The pan & sheet are well constructed and substantial enough not to warp in the oven without being too heavy. It helps that the bakeware is oven safe up to 500f. The extra wide handles for grasping work great with a large oven mitt - gives you something to grab onto. Food slides right out/off as it should. Clean up requires little effort as the surface wipes clean with a soapy sponge. I've used a number of nonstick bakeware products and ended up "retiring" them due to their poor performance within months of purchase.

They are flimsy and cheap-looking, and the roasting pan arrived with a huge crack/hole in the side, rendering it unusable. They're also tony compared to my other pans of better quality. I didn't bother returning them; I just decided to use them as long as possible and then purchase new ones from Calphalon. Don't buy these pans! You can get a great set from Calphalon for the same price and the quality of Calphalon's pans are excellent.

I was really excited to get it, since I've been using my mother's Pyrex glassware to bake with for years. Thirty seconds after I put it in the oven, I heard a loud pop. It had exploded all over the oven. I was shocked, since I hadn't done anything differently from the many other times I've used Pyrex. I was lucky I closed the oven door right away, because otherwise I might have had some serious cuts. Obviously if you transfer a glass dish from, say, the fridge to the oven or vice versa, you would expect it to break - but not transferring a baking dish from the room-temperature countertop to the warm oven! I looked it up and found that this has been a common experience for Pyrex users in the last five years.

The pans are wonderful, I spray them with a cooking spray, use a boxed muffin mix, reduce the temperature 75 degrees from what the box says to use for muffins, cook for about 12 minutes, and they are perfect! I use a silicone spatula to remove them from the pan, I don't want to ruin these precious things.

My friends have ordered them too, they also think they are a great buy. One of my friends even says she puts hers in the dishwasher although I haven't tried that yet.

The first time I used it, the smell from the oven was overwhelmingly sickening, very chemical. I thought it was because I hadn't washed it first. After washing, it was the same. As soon as it heats up in the oven, it starts to STINK. SO I did some searching on the internet - quickly found out that you really want silicone bakeware that is 100% silicone. Cheaper brands use plastic fillers which causes the odor during baking. Turns out you can tell easily by twisting a bit of the silicone - if it turns whitish, it's got plastic fillers. Pure silicone will retain it's color. The Wilton immediately turns whitish when twisted. The smell while it's hot is just nasty. I'll be returning these today - I may exchange for a higher quality and give silicone another chance. ALSO - note that silicone is NOT non-stick - it is stick resistant but the manufacturers all still recommend greasing. Wilton says it clearly on their website.

Since I make so many muffins and cupcakes, I was hoping this would be an alternative to buying paper cup inserts (I wanted to be greener). While this product works, what I hated was that it's so flexible that putting it in the oven filled with batter is difficult. It bends and I have to shove it in awkwardly. I tried putting the flex pan inside my metal pan, but it didn't fit quite right.

Now, I'm placing it on a cookie sheet. It's fixed the problem, but the product didn't work as well as I would have wanted it, too. I have now purchased the individual baking cups to put into my old muffin tins.

I bought a blue one for her. The coffee was cold within an hour. I sent it back and tried again. The inside plastic where the lid screws in broke. I tried one more time. It leaked. I even called the U.S. office of Alfi, and they had one person answering the phones, who couldn't do anything for me. Fortunately, Amazon is great, and took the last one back. I'm never buying an Alfi product again.

The thermal properties are amazing to me -- coffee is still hot the next day when I go to pour out the leftovers and refill! The inside is glass so be careful not to drop it, but I have found no problems with daily use of my Alfi for several years running. The screw top lid doesn't leak when it is tightened down, and it is easy to loosen in order to pour your beverage.

We lived in Denmark for a while and these carafes are standard in pretty much every home and office. I continue to enjoy the convenience, style, and hot coffee now that we are back home in the US and I recommend this product without hesitation.

This is an excellent all around set, and with the lids included it makes it easy to slap on a cover and pop leftovers into the fridge. Worth the investment.

My only complaint is there isn't a cobalt set like this... what can I say, I like blue.

Small line in the silicone on the inside shows suggested fill point. If used on insulated cookie sheets, the inside ones could take longer to cook than others. Stores easily, always on hand (don't have to go buy paper/foil). If you bake cupcakes all of the time - a cupcake pan(s) may be better but for occasional use, these save space over the pan(s), and can be easier to clean.
Reviews for Wilton Silicone Pastel Standard Baking Cups, 12 Count (Kitchen) Last year, I reviewed Miu's Silicone Cupcake Baking Cups and rated those as a five star product. I stand by that review, but feel that Wilton's Silicone Baking Cups are equally as good. As previously stated, I bake fat-free breakfast muffins on a regular basis; they stick to paper cupcake papers so that one loses half a muffin to the paper. My daughter wanted to start using silicone baking cups for her breakfast muffins, but we were unable to find Miu again.

I found the Wilton baking cups to be thicker and even more sturdy than Miu; they are not nearly as flexible. There is little chance of the baking cups spreading from the weight of cupcake or muffin batter. This is particularly helpful if one must sit the cups on a cookie sheet to bake or if one is not using a deep silicone pan to hold the cups and batter for baking. The fill line is particularly nice when baking cupcakes as it allows one to put an equal amount of batter in each cup so that baking time does not vary within a batch of cupcakes/muffins.

There are several ways to address the other reviewers' issues with these silicone baking cups. I freeze my breakfast muffins and have found that if I allow my muffins to sit out for about 5 minutes and then carefully peel off the silicone baking cup, there is little to no baked good sticking to the cup. If some does stick, I simply fill the cup with water and allow it to sit for awhile before hand washing the cup. The second way is to put the muffin cups into your baking pan and then spray all of the cups with non-stick spray. Be sure to do this over your sink to avoid the mess of overspray. Then bake as directed by your recipe, allow the muffins to cool for 5 minutes and then turn out of the pan. The muffin cups will come off easily without damaging the baked goods.

As for accidentally throwing out these silicone cups, I remove them just before serving cupcakes or muffins to guests. If you freeze the baked goods and remove the cups before serving, you will need to allow enough time for the product to thaw and come to room temperature. Since there are little to no crumbs sticking to the cup, the treat is not damaged by doing this and my silicone baking cups are safe from being accidentally discarded.

We were able to find Wilton Baking Cups at the big home store where they sold for $7.99 for 12; by using a $5 off $15 purchase coupon, and stacking the 10% off coupon on one item, my daughter was able to reduce her total cost for two sets to around $10.

I still keep the old blue and red sets from 3 years back and love them. They're all still very convenient for baking, except that these pastel ones get food stains (I bake carrot and also banana muffins in them), are a wee bit lighter, and tear easier than the ones that are red and blue. Though I do like that these new ones now have the 3/4 line from the inside to tell you where to fill up. The regular ones I got three years ago did not have these, though the mini-muffin cups which I got at the same time did, too. I see though, that both the regular and mini-muffin ones I got from 3 years back are sturdier in construction. Go for the non-pastel set anytime.

It's also easier to clean them by using a water-soap moistened cleaning cloth, then just wipe them up. This totally removes all the baking bits. If you're concerned with soapy residue, just rinse in water after this, and you're good to go.

Being stamped from one sheet, they have no nooks and crannies in which residue can build up, and the edges are rolled and feel perfectly smooth. Bread bakes beautifully, and falls out of the overturned pan, leaving them looking almost perfectly clean - though I always spray them lightly with canola.

AND... MOST IMPORTANTLY, there is no non-stick layer to contaminate foods.

These exit the dishwasher looking as brilliant as they did the day they arrived (I never place any non-stick items in the dishwasher.)

There is one issue with these pans - their size: The cooking cavity is maybe 1" less in both width and length than typical bread pans (IMHO) though the depth (height) is similar.

We were using a silicon loaf pan and a Pirex loaf pan, and I definitely prefer the Norpro pan. The size and shape are on the money, and the polished finish is great. After several months of use, I have to say that every loaf has come out perfect. The pans are sturdy and should last indefinitely.

So far I am v pleased. I oil it well before baking. Sometimes a loaf doesn't emerge without some help in one area or other, but on the whole it's pretty good. And it feels nice and robust.

I'm about to order a 2nd pan! Good price for a good product.

Reviews for Mason Cash Baking Dish (Kitchen) While on a road trip some years ago, I bought a number of Mason Cash items in a Mennonite grocery in Kalona, Iowa: 2 of the 5.5 inch bakers, 2 of the 7 inch bakers, and the small rectangular one. I haven't actually baked in them as I use them for servingware instead, but I LOVE them. They're pleasing to hold, pretty to look at, and elegant in their simplicity. I keep looking for more of them but no one in Colorado carries them that I can find. The 5.5 inch ones are perfect for soup and cereal, and the larger ones are great for serving pasta and sauce. The rectangular one I use for a vegetable dish. I plan to get more -- they're wonderful.

Despite some minor discoloration the surface is still completely non-stick; not bad for something we have used almost every day for the past three years. Not only does the nonstick coating hold up well to everyday use it continues to clean up easily. We use them to bake biscuits, cookies, rolls, pastries and the pans conduct heat evenly and everything we bake on them has come out great. These have an angled handle that is easy to grip while using an oven mit so you are able to pick up/put down the cookie sheet without touching the cookies or baked goods on the cookie sheet; I have not smashed any baked goods while trying to handle this cookie sheet.

When I saw the 16x14 La Forme cookie sheets I purchased them because they are larger and because we now have two ovens and I can bake dinner and dessert simultaneously. I have had them for a few weeks and the quality is just as good as the 2004 La Forme purchase and I can get more on these cookie sheets because they are larger. When baking cookies being able to bake 16 per sheet instead of 12 is ideal because it gets me out of the kitchen faster. Because these cookie sheets are larger I find my self using them more often than my first set; in fact I have only used the 10x14 pans once since these arrived.

Great value because the sheets are very sturdy and the nonstick coating stands up to everyday heavy duty use. Great purchase - I would buy them again without hesitation.

There are not ribbed handles. These are flat cookie sheets with no sides. One side has a slight lip (that is the .6 inches part) which is what you use to put them in and out of the oven. There is no recipe book. These don't look bad but they are definitely not as described! I am going to try baking on one and see if they heat evenly - I will update this if they cook well.

I hand wash and dry these pans right after they've been used. I'm not throwing them around so there's no reason the bottom of them should be peeling or flaking. I don't go over the recommended temperatures either.

I'm sure there are other bakeware sets that don't peel, scratch, or flake as easily as this set.

I wouldn't recommend this product.

PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION TO THE "PRODUCT FEATURES" BEFORE BUYING THIS ITEM. The pans are tiny and the hearts, at a little over 1" across and 1/2" deep, are more like candy molds than muffin molds. The pans feel sturdy enough, but the tin-plated steel is very reminiscent of toy baking sets for kids. Based on past experience I would not put these in the dish washer or they will probably be covered in rust when they come out.

I would have to say, be careful, because the bottom is non-stick too and when you pull out your rack too fast, the pan slides forward right on out of the oven like a hockey puck on ice! I went to turn the loaf around to butter the top after I baked for ten minutes and hot, I barely touched to to turn it and it slides around. Love it though, bought the entire collection.

Reviews for HIC Brands that Cook Essentials Silicone 12-Cup Muffin Pan (Kitchen) You can read all over the internet about doing the "pinch" test on silicone. You grab a piece and bend it in half, or grab a piece and squeeze it together. If you see white, it's got fillers and is not 100% silicone...and thus the fillers may be as bad for you as non-stick coatings, who knows.

But this being the only brand on Amazon that STATED it was 100%, I went ahead a bought it. Did the squeeze/pinch test and it stayed red. 100% silicone. So, better for me (until it comes out someday that silicone was a lie and horribly bad for us).

I did the test on Wilton products and the ones at Bed Bath and Beyond, and they all pinched white...

The ones that are not advertised as such likely use a cheaper plastic with the silicon, which will likely stink when you go to bake. At least that's what I learned when I did my own homework.

Anyways, this particular pan is great. I've made over sixty muffins with it so far and it continues to kick butt. I recommend you put a metal tray under the pan so it doesn't flex when you put it in and pull it out of the oven. You don't have to do this. In fact, I usually don't. This pan doesn't stink up the house in the oven and it's really easy to extract the muffins from the pan.

I was about to prepare lasagna in the large dish. Maybe there was heat rising from the oven. All I know is that I walked out of the kitchen for a moment, only to hear a loud crash. When I went back into the kitchen, there was glass EVERYWHERE! The dish had exploded leaving both large pieces and small shards of glass throughout the entire kitchen. Thankfully, I was not in the kitchen when it happened (thanks to going out to answer my phone!), and the other Thanksgiving meals were covered.

I don't know exactly how this happened, but I won't be using this brand of ovenware anymore.

Unlike metal pans this doesn't rust in the dishwasher. The muffins popped out easily without even using a nonstick spray. And with the number of colors available its easy to match decor. Its a little floppy but by either grabbing both sides or placing it on a flat cookie sheet its easy to work around. I plan to buy many more silicon bakeware products in the future.

It was the non-stickability that I was going for. The long and short of it is this thing is no more nonstick than a cactus. I don't know who is giving it positive reviews.

I cooked muffins this morning. Banana nut with chocolate chips. I did some in the old metal pan with nonstick spray and some in the silicone pan without spray. I even allowed the muffins in the silicone pan to cool to room temp before trying to take them out. I did use a thin knife to slice around the outside because there was NO WAY they were coming out. I guess if you use a spray in it, then it would probably be nonstick, but doesn't that defeat the point of silicone?

Also annoying: It is floppy to the point that you MUST use 2 hands to put in and take out unless you have it sitting on something rigid like a cookie sheet, but I guess that's the nature of silicone.

The quality seems lower than similar products I own. The actual silicone of this pan has a more crude finish and heft. That would be alright, but the part that has me worried is the smell. It's a plastic, chemical smell that my other silicone products do not have. Since you bake on high heat with it, the smell makes me question if chemicals will be breaking down or off-gassing into my food. Ingesting toxins is something I'd rather avoid, so it's going back.

Having always done designs free-hand and with a little help from the old icing tubes bought in the stores, I decided it was time to get something real quick and a whole lot better for future years of birthday cakes! The price was perfect and the product arrived quickly. I found it to be very easy to use. Some people found it hard to clean, but if you use hot water right away it cleans up darn good. I also had some black icing, but was still able to get it clean without any trouble. I love the tips and had a ball using this decorating set.

Peel it off the coupling, throw it away, and use a gallon ziploc with the corner cut off instead. Save yourself the trouble of cleaning it, too. The tips are easy to use, and there's a nice variety for getting started with decorating - NB, though, something I didn't realize (as a novice myself): decorating tips come in two sizes, and these are the smaller size, so you won't get large swirls/flourishes out of them, and don't plan to cover a whole cake this way. I found decorator tips and couplings in both sizes and all shapes available singly at my local cooking store, and they're cheap. You might want to check out that option if you have it in your town.
